Regular Community reach out

As part of its ongoing commitment to community , WMSI students, both Medical and Nursing, pay regular visits to the nearby Marian Home, a nursing home dedicated to the care of the elderly in St. Lucia. The Med 4 Medical students perform history-taking and physicals of the residents of Marian Home as part of the practical Physical Diagnosis (PD) curriculum. The Nursing students render wound care, injections and baths to the residents and deliver talks to the healthcare workers about pressure sore prevention and general care of the elderly.

Health camp organised

AMSA at WMSI organized a General Health Camp on the 24th of July 2016, Sunday.Prior to the health Camp, AMSA arranged a seminar to get the participants equipped with all of the necessary information. This seminar was lead by Mr.Kumaresan Elumalai.

Basic Life Support (BLS) training

AMSA WMSI Chapter in coordination with American Heart Association representative Mr.Benjamin from St.Judes hospital organized a Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification program on 8th March 2016. The event was conducted in the medical school campus seminar hall and was attended by students along with faculty members.

Free Medical Camp for Community

A Free Medical Camp was conducted by the students of WMSI on behalf of the wellness club, at the creative health centre, Rodney bay, on the 17th of October 2015 from 10 am to 5 pm.
